I must admit that I purchased the PR-10's and honestly was truly blown away by the detailed highs being that they have the 14XT driver in them. I purchased these speakers without hearing them by mail order. Far as commerical speakers go, I find that these have some of the most balanced sounds I have heard. I use these in my home as primary speakers now with two high end audiophile subs on each side of the speakers. I have many other speakers that I use in my home including panel speakers, I also have a pair of accoustat spectra model 33 electrostat speakers and they are big also expensive, yet the little PR-10's always warm my heart with their sparkle and I find myself going back to them. I drive them with dual mono tube amps, go figure! My audiophile buddies think I am nuts until they hear the set up. And to think I only paid 119.00 ea for these little guys, what a bargin. Thanks Peavey for such a great product. Oh ya, I could have owned a peavey store with all of the peavey gear I have had over many years. Do you know the looks you get when people come into your home and see three pairs of the Peavey HDH3's just for my lows and two pairs of the three way International 118's equiped with the 22A titanium drivers. I sold all of that, did't like the high's on the International's, but wow the HDH 3's, killer bass! Yes this was for my home!! My wife couldn't take the idea of speakers taking up entire wall's not to mention almost touching the top of our 10ft ceiling. What was I to do, I was lost, I agreed to my wife to sell it all except for the RBS1's, those had the two black widow 15's in each cab. The thirst for bass continued so I sold them also in lue for something more. About six months went by and I couldn't hold out any longer, bought a pair of Mackie SA1232's for my home main's and I got a pair of Peavey QW218 sub's with a pair of 2100 watt mono amps driving each sub. The Mackie's have their own 1300 watt amps built into each cabnet. Now what I'm getting to is this point, I love the Mackie's with the paired QW218 sub's, but I prefer the sound of the Pr-10's with my two audiophile sub's. Yes this is insane I know in my home, but I origionally got the PR10's for my rear surround speakers and changed my mind once I heard them. Bought alot of speakers, amps, drivers over the years from peavey. You get what you pay for, great products for the money. My QW118's actually will make the doors open and close in my home, I probably do not have enough room in my living room for them to reproduce proper lows due to limited air volume space in that room. Still I love em, when we throw a party we do it in big style, with lights, fog and all. Thanks Peavey, and yes I'm looking to replace the 14XT driver's in another competitors cabinet because their titanium drivers suck. No it's not the Mackies sorry, thats what brought me here, I was looking up specs and pricing. Now let me get back to buisness and get another pair of those 14XT driver's so I can be complete, well for a little while anyway. Thanks peavey, your like a peice of America, I feel proud to be a part of it. Again thanks, Brett
