Unbelieveable quality for the money! While made in China, I hate to say it is comparable to the former Kalamazoo,Michigan guitar creators. Everyone who's played it since I bought it here says it is a great guitar regardless of price. Finish is immaculate. The Grover tuning machines are second to none. This is the ONLY guitar I've had in 35+ years that had a neck pickup that cranked out of the box! I've had 2 Gibson Les Pauls and a kick ass old Explorer. Perfection at an affordable price point. Needs nothing (although I added a Gibson style pickup selector switch backplate). A hot Duncan Invader or Dimarzio Super Distortion pickup in the bridge postion would make it a true beast of a guitar, but only to fine tune another truly great product from Peavey. Let's say Champagne quality on a Bud Light price!
